How Al Gore is driving climate action with AI

Al Gore and The Climate Reality Project are on a mission to mobilize the world for climate action. The REALITY® Tour, kicked off in Paris, aims to build momentum for bold climate commitments ahead of COP30 in Brazil.

Former US Vice President Al Gore has been at the forefront of global efforts to combat climate change since the signing of the Paris Agreement 10 years ago. The REALITY® Tour is his latest initiative, designed to equip leaders with the knowledge and skills needed to drive meaningful change.

Why the Philippines Matters

The Philippines is among the countries most vulnerable to climate change impacts. Rising sea levels, extreme weather events, and natural disasters have made the country a global case study in resilience and adaptation. The Climate Reality REALITY® Tour aims to empower Pinoy leaders with the tools they need to advocate for sustainable solutions.

The tour is set to visit key cities across the region, including Paris, Nairobi, Rio de Janeiro, and Ulaanbaatar. Local trainings will take place in March and April, offering participants a unique opportunity to learn from Al Gore’s signature presentation on climate change.

On March 29, Climate Reality branch offices in the Philippines will host one-day training sessions in Bacolod. These events are part of an ongoing effort to build a network of advocates who can drive climate action at the local and national levels.

Online Global Experience

In addition to in-person trainings, participants from around the world will have access to a dedicated digital platform. The online experience includes Al Gore’s signature presentation on climate change in 12 languages—Arabic, Bahasa Indonesia, Bengali, English, French, Hindi, Japanese, Mandarin, Portuguese, Spanish, Tagalog, and Urdu.

The tour introduces state-of-the-art technology through a partnership with Metaphysic. This AI-driven platform allows participants to engage with Al Gore’s presentation in their preferred language, making climate awareness more accessible than ever before.

Attendees of the REALITY® Tour will become part of the Climate Reality Leadership Corps, joining over 3.8 million supporters worldwide who are committed to bold climate action. By becoming a member of this corps, Pinoys can leverage their skills and networks to influence policy and drive sustainable practices in their communities.

The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) will convene in Brazil for COP30, an event that presents a critical opportunity to ramp up climate action ambition. The REALITY® Tour aims to ensure that voices from around the world are heard and that leaders take ambitious steps to meet emissions reduction targets.

Urgent Need for Action

According to Al Gore’s analysis, greenhouse gas emissions must be cut in half by 2030 to align with the goals of the Paris Agreement. However, current trends show that emissions are still rising. This underscores the importance of initiatives like the REALITY® Tour in galvanizing global support and action.

The tour is not just about training; it’s a call to action for Pinoys and Pinoy leaders to amplify their voices for climate change. By joining the Climate Reality Leadership Corps, participants can help shape a future powered by clean energy and international cooperation on climate change.
