MAKATI, Philippines – Following the launch of the Mate 20 in London earlier this year, Huawei has officially launched its newest flagship in the Philippines at a media event held in Makati.
Priced at 40,990 PHP, the Huawei Mate 20 features a 4000 mAh battery as well as a 16/12/8 MP triple-camera module co-engineered with Leica.
A slightly beefier Pro variant comes with a 4200 mAh battery with wireless charging support and a 40/20/8 MP triple-camera module. Priced at 49,990 PHP, the Huawei P20 Pro is also IP68 certified and comes with an AMOLED screen and additional sensors to support face unlock.
Powered by the Kirin 980 chipset, Huawei Mate 20 is the first smartphone to showcase what 7nm process engineering can do on a smartphone, beating top rivals Apple and Samsung to the punch.
Compared to its predecessor, the Mate 20 boasts a CPU that is 75% more powerful, a GPU that is 46% more powerful, and an NPU that is 226% more powerful. Furthermore, the reduced size brings increased efficiency in all areas, resulting in lower battery drain.
Pre-orders for the Huawei P20 and Huawei P20 Pro are open from October 26 to November 20 via Globe and Smart postpaid plans. The phones will be officially available in Huawei Experience stores nationwide starting November 3.
Customers are entitled to a free one-time screen replacement within the first month of purchase.
