The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc. Mapúa University Student Branch (IEEE-MUSB) will be hosting the IEEE-MUSB Week with the theme “Harboring Tomorrow’s Technology”. AI technology’s improvement was evident from the prior years and it can be in the forefront of technology in the near future. The importance of AI can not be stressed enough and it needs all engineering aspects to be fully utilized. The IEEE’s core purpose is to foster technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity. Being a student branch of the IEEE, it is our mission this year to promote innovation and importance on how technology can change our perception in machine learning especially Artificial Intelligence.
The IEEE-MUSB Week composes of activities such as Technical Seminars and Workshop, Quiz Bee, Digital Poster Making Contest, and the 15th Annual Project Design Competition. This week-long activity invites all the students, instructors and professors coming from the Philippine Section of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Student Branches specifically from De La Salle University – Manila (DLSU), University of the Philippines – Diliman (UP), University of Santo Tomas (UST), University of the East – Caloocan (UE) and Mapúa University – Manila (MU) which will be the Host – School of the said event. The IEEE-MUSB Week aims to help all the students, instructors, and professors coming from IEEE Philippine Section Student branches to interact with other schools regarding the advancement of technology, technological innovation, research, and growth of skill and knowledge in technical – related professions.
The organizers of IEEE-MUSB Week will be the officers of the organization which composes of committees manpowered by its respective staff. The activites of the whole week will be as follows:
- Tuesday and Wednesday: IEEE-MUSB Technical Seminars and Workshops
- Thursday: IEEE-MUSB Digital Poster Making Contest
- Friday: IEEE-MUSB Quiz Bee: Battle of the Brains
- Saturday: IEEE-MUSB 15th Annual Project Design Competition
The opening ceremony of the IEEE Week 2018 will be held on Tuesday to be followed by the IEEE – MUSB Technical Seminars and Workshops. The IEEE-MUSB 15th Annual Project Design Competition will have its Exhibit of Posters for the entries of the participants which will be displayed at the North Circle.
