Is It’s Showtime to be replaced by Robin Padilla’s noontime show?

Recently, there were rumors circulating in the internet that It’s Showtime will say goodbye in February 2016.

The noontime show host Vhong Navarro already cleared out the issue in an interview with the press saying there is no word yet from ABS-CBN management.

“Ako hindi ko pa narinig na hanggang February na lang, siguro kung may issue na ganun, ipapaabot sa amin para din naka ready kami at kung ano pa ang pwede pang ibigay pa,” Navarro said.

“Kung ano man ang dumating at ano man ang desisyon ng management, e hindi na natin kontrolado yun. Basta kami, hanggat andito ang ‘Showtime,’ magpapapasaya kami sa lahat.” he added.

It’s Showtime has been in television for six years and got higher ratings despite of the competition. However, the past four months have been a roller coaster to the show as 36 year old Eat Bulaga dominated again the noontime block showcasing the powerhouse duo of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza, popularly known as AlDub who were the stars of the Kalyeserye segment.

TV ratings show that It’s Showtime was left behind by Eat Bulaga having an estimated 30% difference in Kantar Media and 45% in AGB Nielsen. The ratings were recorded during Eat Bulaga’s Tamang Panahon episode where the show achieved historical 41 million tweets, 3 hour episode with no commercial breaks and 50,000 audience in Philippine Arena.

The rival show’s phenomenal success greatly affected It’s Showtime. “Hindi naman natin maipagkakaila yun,” Navarro admitted.

With the sudden crash of It’s Showtime on the game, rumors spread that it will end, first quarter next year and will be replaced by another noontime show according to Hataw Tabloid.

The said show will be hosted by the returning Kapamilya artist Robin Padilla.

Just last December 9, the action star signed a two-year exclusive TV contract with the channel but no projects were announced yet.

In 2011, Padilla hosted Kapamilya noontime show Pilipinas Win na Win with Pokwang and her wife, Mariel Rodriguez.

Will Robin Padilla be able to save the sinking noontime presence of the Kapamilya or the better question is, will he accept the offer if ever? Your thoughts?
