Balut vendor shows off their ‘drum car’ invention in Noli de Castro’s “KBYN: Kaagapay ng Bayan”

MANILA, Philippines – Noli de Castro puts the spotlight on balut vendor Rolando Barrientos, who invented the ‘drum car’, this Sunday (September 25) in “KBYN: Kaagapay ng Bayan” on A2Z, TeleRadyo, Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, and ABS-CBN News Online Live.

Rolando’s invention made use of recycled materials in forming his fully functional vintage-style car. The 48-year-old shares that his creation is a blessing to his family during this pandemic. With the help of his children, he already made three ‘drum cars’ – two were sold to customers and the other one he uses while selling his balut.

The “KBYN” team travelled to Sitio Dumilag, Brgy. Baluntaya, San Marcelino, Davao Occidental to meet Corazon Inantay or Paki, a 25-year-old woman who recently went viral on social media because of the strength she exhibits despite her disability.

Born without the ability to walk, Paki crawls in the dirt to get from one point to another. Among her siblings, who are all part of the B’laan Tribe, she is the only one born with this disease. As a way to aid Paki and her family, the team gives hardworking Paki some financial assistance.

“KBYN” also visits another hardworking individual who showcases his talent in pyrography or burning sketches on wood. Edison Billones, a full-time delivery rider, uses this skill as his side hustle.

Meanwhile, Kabayan Noli gets up close and personal with a giant poodle owned by celebrity doctors Aivee at Z Teo. Dr. Z gifted this massive stuffed toy-like dog, which he bought abroad, to Dr. Aivee back in 2019. During the pandemic, the couple bred their giant poodle and posted it on their social media accounts. Several celebrities already bought the Giant Poodle puppies from them, which costs around half a million pesos.
