SEOUL, South Korea (Mar 2026) — Premium TV buyers keep going back to OLED, and LG has been leading that charge for more than a decade.
For the 13th straight year, LG Electronics held its position as the top global OLED TV brand, shipping about 3.22 million units in 2025. That accounts for 49.7 percent of the global OLED TV market, according to market research firm Omdia. Total OLED TV shipments reached 6.47 million units last year, reflecting a 6.6 percent increase year over year.
The numbers point to one thing: more people are upgrading to high-end displays, and OLED continues to be the go-to choice.
OLED demand keeps growing worldwide
Europe stood out as a major growth region, with OLED TV shipments surpassing 3 million units for the first time. LG captured roughly half of that market with 1.59 million units shipped.
The company also maintained strong positions in other regions, including a 50.1 percent market share in North America and 62.3 percent in Asia-Oceania. These figures highlight how OLED adoption is spreading across different markets, not just in premium-heavy regions.
Why OLED still wins
OLED TVs are popular for their deep blacks, vibrant colors and sleek designs. As more consumers prioritize home entertainment, expectations around brightness, clarity and overall viewing experience continue to rise.
That demand is pushing manufacturers to improve how OLED performs in real-world conditions, especially in bright rooms where glare can be an issue.
What is new for LG OLED in 2026
Building on its 2025 performance, LG is rolling out upgrades to its OLED evo lineup this year.
One of the biggest changes is the introduction of Hyper Radiant Color technology, which the company says can deliver images up to 3.9 times brighter than conventional OLED displays. The new TVs also use the Alpha 11 AI Processor Gen 3, designed to improve image quality by reducing noise while preserving fine details.
LG is also addressing a long-standing OLED challenge: reflections. Its latest models have earned a Reflection Free Premium certification from Intertek, aimed at improving visibility in brightly lit spaces.
A TV that almost disappears on your wall
Design is still a big part of the OLED appeal. LG’s new Wallpaper OLED evo TV W6 pushes that even further with an ultra-thin profile in the single-digit millimeter range.
The slim design was made possible by reworking internal components without sacrificing durability or performance. It has already earned an iF Design Award, highlighting the growing importance of aesthetics in modern home setups.
What this means for buyers
With OLED shipments growing and new technologies addressing brightness and glare, premium TVs are becoming more practical for everyday use, not just for dark home theater setups.
For Filipino consumers considering an upgrade, this means better picture quality even in typical living rooms with lots of natural light.
Pricing and local availability for the 2026 OLED evo lineup in the Philippines have not yet been announced.
