PASAY CITY, Philippines – Knorr Sinigang Mix brought a unique “asim-kilig” experience to the rainy Manila evening by transforming the SM Mall of Asia By The Bay fountain into a giant sinigang bowl. The installation, complete with broth and traditional sinigang ingredients, showcased the beloved Filipino comfort food in an unforgettable display of lights, music, and flavors.
The event’s highlight was the transformation of the fountain into a steaming bowl of sinigang, a scene that left visitors both in awe and craving the tangy soup. A dedicated viewing deck allowed guests to witness the vibrant lights and water show, making it a perfect Instagram-worthy moment.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, Filipino band Lola Amour performed their viral hit “Raining in Manila” with a special twist: a “sinigang version” performed live on the Wish Bus stage. Their rendition, featuring playful lyrics like “Dahil raining in Manila, mag-asim-kilig sinigang na,” resonated with the audience, tying the rainy weather to the warm, comforting appeal of sinigang.
Knorr further delighted visitors by serving free bowls of sinigang made with their Sinigang sa Sampalok Original Mix, emphasizing the use of real sampalok (tamarind) for authentic flavor. Guests also enjoyed karaoke sessions at the Knorr booth, embracing another staple of Filipino culture while enjoying the iconic dish.
This creative event underlined sinigang’s cultural significance in the Philippines. Known as a comforting dish for cold or rainy days, sinigang’s tangy warmth holds a special place in Filipino households. Knorr’s interactive and imaginative tribute to this beloved dish strengthened its identity as a brand that celebrates Filipino traditions and flavors.
