Look Up! Giant Balloon Spotted For Ed Sheeran’s Latest Album Drop

Ed Sheeran fans rejoice!

Ed’s eighth album PLAY is a return for a “big pop” sound.

He’s described it as a “big pop album”, which is a major change of pace after the low-key folk sound of his previous two LPs.

PLAY will be released on September 12 2025. That’s just under two years since his last album, Autumn Variations, which arrived on September 29 2023.

And to spice up the release of his upcoming album, a massive PLAY balloon is seen on top of a building at Venice Grand Canal Mall to make more peeps be aware of Sheeran’s latest offering.

Collaborators of Play include Snow Patrol’s Johnny McDaid, whom Ed has worked with extensively in the past, and pop producers Ilya (Ariana Grande, Sam Smith) and Savan Kotecha (One Direction, Ellie Goulding).

Watch out for more updates on Ed Sheeran’s exciting PLAY album.
