One more week to go and the search for those unique voices is on. It’s the kids turn to showcase what they’ve got to impress the coaches that would make them turn and say “I WANT YOU!”
Like the other international versions of “The Voice Kids,” only three coaches will sit in the famous red chairs and select the artists they want to be part of their team. Coaches Sarah Gerenimo (Popstar Princess), Bamboo (Rock Superstar) and Lea Salonga (Broadway Diva) will again battle it out for vocal supremacy.
Once every team has 18 artists, they proceed to the next round, the battle rounds.
Unlike the adult version that has 2 artists per team in the ring, the kids edition will have 3 artists in the ring. Each coach will choose 1 artist per round that will move to the sing-off round, where six artists from each team will try to give their all to impress their coach.
In the sing-off round, each coach must pick 2 artists who will advance into the semi-finals. From these 6 semi-finalists will emerge the top 4 contestants who will battle against each other for the grand finals. This means one of the coaches might have 2 artists who will compete in the finale for the title of grand champion for The Voice Kids.
How different will this competition be from the The Voice Philippines?
Aside from it will a kids edition, the level of mentoring is unlike the adult version. All three coaches underwent sessions with a child psychologist who taught them how mentor kids during the competition.
“The Voice Kids” will be hosted by Luis Manzano with Alex Gonzaga, who at the time of writing is still inside the Pinoy Big Brother house. Lea Salonga, who is currently on tour, is also noticeably absent from the press conference.
Don’t miss to watch “The Voice Kids” premieres May 24 on ABS-CBN.
