Maserati driver punches MMDA enforcer & steals cellphone

The driver of a brand new blue Maserati with no plate assaulted an Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) traffic officer who tried to apprehend him after attempting to make an illegal left turn along Quezon City Thursday morning.

The altercation began when the blue Maserati attempted to make an illegal left turn at the corner of Quezon Avenue and Araneta Avenue.

MMDA traffic officer Jorby Adriatico did not pursue the Maserati, but took a picture for identification instead.

This irked the luxury car driver, who responded by giving the dirty finger.

The unnamed driver then proceeded to make a U-turn at the intersection and slowed down to call Adriatico.

According to fellow MMDA officer Rodolfo Fernandez, the driver proceeded to drag Adriatico by his uniform, punching him in the face and then accelerated the car while still holding onto Adriatico’s uniform.

Adriatico was dragged from the corner of Quezon Avenue and Araneta Avenue all the way to Scout Cuatoco Street before he was released.

According to Jorby, the driver appeared to be a wealthy man in his 30s. The driver was accompanied by a male passenger, who was also in his 30s.

MMDA traffic officer Jorby Adriatico suffered a fractured nose as a result of the attack.

According to the latest tweet by Allan Gatus of DZBB, the QCPD traced the owner of the blue Maserati as a resident of Valencia Hills Condominium, located at the corner of N. Domingo and Valencia Street, New Manila, Quezon City.
