TAIPEI, Taiwan (Jul 2025) – MediaTek unveiled its Filogic Xtra Speed ecosystem, a comprehensive suite of Wi-Fi enhancement technologies designed to address performance bottlenecks that plague home networks during peak usage periods.
The new ecosystem tackles a common frustration: Wi-Fi networks that slow to a crawl when multiple family members stream videos, join video calls, or download files simultaneously. Despite Wi-Fi 7’s impressive peak speeds, users still experience jitter and delays during crucial moments like important video conferences or family movie nights.
“Wi-Fi has become the backbone of modern homes, but environmental factors and device congestion continue to impact signal quality,” said Alan Hsu, Corporate Vice President and General Manager of the Intelligent Connectivity Business at MediaTek, in a press release obtained by our editors.
The Xtra Speed ecosystem introduces three key technologies that work together to optimize home network performance. Mesh Boost leverages Multi-Link Operation technology to increase mesh network throughput by over 20 percent, ensuring smooth connectivity even in hard-to-reach corners of the home.
Coordinated Spatial Reuse optimizes transmission power across multiple access points, boosting throughput by up to 30 percent while eliminating interference between devices. The technology enables faster webpage loading and seamless downloads across all connected devices.
Perhaps most significantly, AI Anti-Noise dynamically adjusts network configurations to avoid interference, reducing latency by up to 60 percent. This ensures video calls remain stable and streaming content plays without buffering, even in device-heavy environments.
The timing proves crucial as households increasingly rely on Wi-Fi for everything from remote work to entertainment. A typical family gathering can strain networks when smartphones, laptops, smart TVs, and IoT devices all compete for bandwidth simultaneously.
MediaTek, the world’s largest Wi-Fi solutions supplier, powers connectivity across routers, smartphones, tablets, smart home devices, and gaming consoles. The company actively participates in IEEE and Wi-Fi Alliance certification development, recently contributing to Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 6 R2 testbed devices.
For consumers experiencing Wi-Fi performance issues during peak hours, the Xtra Speed ecosystem promises to transform daily online activities into seamless, enjoyable experiences across all connected devices.
