After 13 years of waiting, the Philippines will have to keep waiting. Dominican Republic’s Joheirry Mola Dominguez was crowned Miss World 2026 on September 5, while Filipino-American bet Asia Rose Simpson ended her run in the Top 12.
Who won Miss World 2026
The blue crown went to Joheirry Mola Dominguez of the Dominican Republic at the coronation held at April 2nd Square in Nha Trang, Vietnam. She was handed the title by outgoing queen Opal Suchata Chuangsri of Thailand, who took her final walk in a white gown before passing the crown.

Asia Rose Simpson’s Top 12 finish
Simpson reached the final cut of the 73rd Miss World pageant after a standout campaign that included winning her Head-to-Head Challenge and placing in the top three of the talent competition. In the Top 12 question-and-answer round, she cited unity as the Filipino value she would share with the world, but it was not enough to crack the final six.
The result extends the country’s drought since Megan Young’s 2013 win, a wait that had looked increasingly likely to end after Simpson’s momentum-heavy run through the preliminaries. Our coronation preview broke down how she got here.
For the Philippines, the pageant world now turns to what comes next, with Simpson’s Head-to-Head victory having marked her as a title contender long before the final night. The 18-year-old leaves Nha Trang with a Top 12 finish, a talent placement, and a resume that makes her a likely face of Philippine pageantry for years to come.
