MANILA, Philippines – The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has rolled out its premium bus service starting January 5 all the way up to January 6 to encourage private car owners to leave their vehicles and de-congest EDSA through the holiday rush.
For 50-80 pesos per trip, commuters can ride MMDA operated buses through EDSA, starting from Quezon City all the way to Makati.
Pick-up points include:
- Trinoma (Quezon City)
- SM North EDSA (Quezon City)
- SM Megamall (Mandaluyong City)
Drop-off points are as follows:
- Park Square Ayala Center (Makati)
- Glorietta 5 (Makati)
- Park Square Terminal (Makati)
MMDA is aiming to complete one trip within 45 minutes.
For a total of 100-160 pesos for a round-trip ride, this seems like an attractive offer, especially when you factor the rising cost of fuel and parking spaces (and the difficulty of finding one).
Would you leave your car at home for MMA’s premium bus service? What do you think?
