Tom Alonzo, campaign representative and Digital Marketing Manager of Arla Philippines, opened the program by recapping the highlights of the campaign. He noted that the last two years have become meaningful because of the campaign’s key message: how organic European dairy is a naturally good choice for the body, animals, and the planet.

The event invited guest speakers to talk about how organic European dairy can be incorporated into one’s diet and lifestyle. Jeaneth Aro, an Olympic and elite performance nutrition coach, explained that milk can be consumed as a sports recovery drink and hydration beverage and how it can provide energy and facilitate muscle recovery after exercise. Jo Sebastian, registered nutritionist and dietitian, shared that organic European dairy is an effective ingredient to make dishes richer and creamier, a delicious way to encourage picky kids to try new meals.

The luncheon held a live cooking demo with celebrity chefs Roland “chef Lau” Laudico and Jac Laudico to show how everyday Filipino dishes such as chicken pastel and cheese crust, cheesy beef caldereta, kamote cheese mash, grilled cheese pandenini, and baked cream cheese poqui poqui. can be made more special with organic European dairy.

A Q&A panel session then followed. One of the key topics raised is the campaign’s impact this year. By providing more access to organic European dairy, Filipinos will appreciate a wider variety of local dishes and make it easier for them to make the naturally good choice.

The EU organic standards

In Europe, organic farms abide by a strict set of rules and sustainable practices as mandated by the European Union. They must adhere to the following standards:

  • At least 95% of the ingredients need to be organic to qualify for certification
  • Artificial flavorings, colorants, sweeteners, growth hormones, and genetically modified organisms (GMOs) are not allowed
  • Limited use of synthetic fertilizers and chemical pesticides
  •

Animal welfare in organic farming

Animal welfare is a top priority in European organic production. On organic farms, cows are given the freedom to roam outdoors and graze freely in lush pastures. They are also fed a 100% organic diet free from antibiotics, drugs, and hormones.

Denmark: a global leader in organic dairy production

Denmark is a pioneer in organic dairy production. It was the first country in the world to introduce organic legislation, develop national organic standards, and launch an organic state control label to promote consumer trust and boost the credibility of organic food. These became the basis for Denmark’s ambitious organic policies that made it a world leading organic nation.

Among Denmark’s 34,000 farms, 4,000 are certified organic. Denmark owes its success to the innovation and hard work of its farmers. Torben Sonderby, who runs Klint Organic, a Danish farm that houses 240 cows and cultivates 400 hectares of land to produce 2.5 million kilos of organic milk, goes the extra mile in implementing organic standards.

He shared that 85-90% of the cows’ feed is roughage, a mix of grass and maize that is grown without pesticides. “We regularly analyze this feed to ensure its top-notch quality,” he said.

Bringing natural goodness to the Filipino table

The EU Organic Dairy PH will continue to educate consumers, empower them to make informed purchasing decisions, and engage them to indulge in the natural goodness of organic European dairy.

DDB will arrange product sampling activities from August 2025 to January 2026 at leading supermarkets and grocery stores to elevate appreciation for organic dairy products such as conventional, fresh milk, and cream cheese. It will also offer VIP Consumer Classes where guests can learn how to spot organic European dairy, participate in wellness talks, workshops, and cooking demonstrations while having the chance to win exciting prizes.

Mom, entrepreneur, and lifestyle influencer Steffy Gerona  said, “As someone who loves preparing wholesome meals for my family, it’s reassuring how organic European dairy is handled with so much care. I learned that it’s easy to identify authentic organic products by just looking at the EU organic logo. Learning about these standards made me more mindful about the food choices I make daily.”

Mr. Lars Witt JensenSenior Marketing Manager at the Danish Dairy Board, said, “We’re proud that more Filipinos are becoming aware of what organic stands for and how they’re showing interest in learning about its benefits. I hope that through our campaign, consumers will be more empowered when they look for the EU organic logo on dairy products. This way, they can discover its practical applications and enjoy the natural goodness of organic European dairy.”
