The Junior Confederation of Finance Associations – Philippines held its 8th National Convention entitled National Finance Summit: The Paradigm of Divergent Leadership last January 7, 2017 at the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City.
The annual event was attended by over 5,500 financial management students across the country.
The summit featured topics about leadership which helped the delegates to find the leader within them and give them the necessary and basic ingredients in becoming the future leaders of our generation. Keynote speakers include Dr. Alex Brillantes. Jr, CHED Commissioner; Mr. Eduardo Francisco, President of the BDO Capital and Investment Corporation; Ma’am Carolina V. Dominguez, CEO and President of John Clements Consultants, Inc; Mr. Francis Kong, Founder of Success Options Inc. and Funworks, Inc.; Mr. Anthony Abad, CEO of TA Trade Advisory Group, Inc.; and Ma’am Ana Maria “Penny” Bongato, Executive Director of the Information Technology and Business Processing Association of the Philippines.
The delegates were also given the opportunity to get to know different companies and apply for internship and jobs to companies like BDO Unibank, BDO Nomura, Chinabank, AIG Shared Services, Bureau of the Treasury, Kalibrr, Landbank and Hongkong Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC).
After months of competition, Marco Mauleon from University of the Philippines – Diliman bagged first place in the Investagrams Stock Market Challenge and received a total prize of Php100,000.00 from Investagrams.
The Ten Outstanding Finance Students were also awarded during the event. The top 3 students namely Francesca Radojevic from University of Sto. Tomas, Jazmine Clarisse Olivares from De La Salle University, and Alexius Bantoto from Adamson University were granted COL Financial Starter Accounts.
The event was ended in giving recognition to JCFAP’s dearest member schools across the country.
