Obra Time, a theater collective started by a group of alumni from University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P), will have a production called Exposed, an out-of-school production featuring three short plays, Fifth Lock , Alikabok sa Kusina , and Shish Happens, that explore the theme of being exposed by showcasing the vulnerability of acting in a theatrical setting.
First, Fifth Lock, written by Hazel San Buenaventura, is a play about a well-defended but stifled heart who knows, who acts, and who loves behind her forbidding exterior. It is a play that talks about showing one’s emotions in the right place and at the right time. Second, Alikabok sa Kusina, also known as Dust in Your Place written by UA&P’s Dr. Joachim “Joem” Antonio, is about a comic-strip artist that must tell his writer what is plaguing his relationships with other girls, even if it may be at the cost of their own friendship.
Lastly, Shish Happens, a collaborative work by multiple playwrights (Dr. Joachim “Joem” Antonio, Jonathan Guillermo, Ian Amane, Joao Atienza, Ronald Cimafranca, JJ Rimando, Martin Vicencio, A.G. De Mesa, and Bok Gil), is about Chris, a scriptwriter, whose immediate supervisor happens to be his ex-girlfriend. The deadline is mere hours away, and they are forced to face each other again; will they finally achieve the closure from the confrontation they never had?
