Pacquiao vs Mayweather: who wins the Internet battle? [infographic]

MANILA, Philippines – The fight of the century is almost here and the Internet is abuzz with news and social media posts about the upcoming Pacquiao-Mayweather fight on May 2. Debates and observations fly left and right on who should win and who the best pound-for-pound fighter is.

For search giant Google, however, it is fun to think of a pre-fight winner just by looking at the search volume of both fighters. Using Google Trends, Google Philippines prepared an infographic that shows Manny Pacquiao dominating in his home country the Philippines and neighboring countries such as Laos, Brunei, Cambodia, Thailand, and Macau.

On the other than, there are more searches for Floyd Mayweather Jr in his home country the USA, as well as Puerto Rico, Guam, Namibia, Ghana, and the Bahamas.

Both superstars enjoy a higher search interest compared to other sports personalities such as David Becham, Usain Bolt, and Christiano Ronaldo.
