MANILA, Philippines (Apr 2026) — PLDT Enterprise has launched an internal AI assistant called Ellie, built to help its employees work faster and spend less time hunting down the information they need to do their jobs.
Short for Enablement and Intelligence Engine, Ellie runs inside Microsoft Teams and gives PLDT Group staff quick access to product information, sales materials, client proposals, and a centralized knowledge base they can search across. The idea is to cut down the time spent looking for resources and redirect that effort toward higher-value work.
“Championing AI within our own workplace allows us to lead by example as we transform into a TechCo,” said Blums Pineda, Senior Vice President and Head of Enterprise Business Group and PLDT Group AI Business Lead. “Demonstrating how AI can enhance productivity and deliver more responsive outcomes for our customers.”
In practice, Ellie helps sales and client-facing teams pull up product bulletins across PLDT Enterprise’s portfolio, covering fixed, wireless, and ICT solutions, without having to dig through separate systems or wait on colleagues for information. The centralized knowledge base keeps teams aligned when preparing for or responding to client engagements.
“Ellie reflects how we are approaching AI as a practical tool for everyday work, not just a future concept, but something our teams can use now to work smarter and respond more effectively to client needs,” said Nico Alcoseba, First Vice President and Head of Enterprise Product Management and Innovations at PLDT Enterprise.
The launch is part of PLDT’s broader push to build AI into its internal operations before advocating for it externally, a move the company frames as practicing what it preaches as it shifts toward a technology company identity.
