MANILA, Philippines (Jun 2025) – Chinese smartphone maker POCO launched the POCO F7 in the Philippines today, featuring the latest Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor and targeting budget-conscious consumers seeking flagship performance.
The device marks POCO’s push into premium territory while maintaining accessible pricing. Starting at P17,499 for the 12GB+256GB variant during its launch week, the F7 undercuts flagship competitors by thousands of pesos.
POCO also debuted Rydr, its first virtual avatar mascot designed to appeal to younger Filipino tech enthusiasts. The character embodies the brand’s focus on speed and performance.
The F7’s standout feature is its Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, delivering an AnTuTu benchmark score of over 2 million points. This represents a 30% performance jump from previous generations, according to company testing.
To handle the processor’s heat output, POCO engineered a 6000mm² cooling system with dual-channel heat pipes. The largest battery in the F-series lineup at 6500mAh supports 90W fast charging, reaching 80% capacity in 30 minutes.
Gaming performance gets a boost through WildBoost Optimization 4.0, supporting 1.5K resolution and 120fps frame rates in popular mobile games like Genshin Impact. The Surge T1s signal processor enhances cellular and Wi-Fi connectivity.
Photography centers on a 50MP Sony IMX882 main camera with optical image stabilization. Portrait modes offer 26mm, 35mm, and 52mm focal lengths. AI Beautify automatically adjusts tone, clarity, and brightness without over-processing images.
The 6.83-inch display reaches 3200 nits peak brightness for outdoor visibility. At 94.23% screen-to-body ratio, minimal bezels maximize viewing area. The panel earned TÜV Rheinland certifications for low blue light emission and flicker-free operation.
POCO’s design team drew inspiration from speed and motion. The aluminum frame features CNC machining while the glass back includes geometric accents. The limited Cyber Silver Edition displays a prominent Snapdragon logo.
Durability testing shows the frame withstands up to 70kg of bending force. IP68 rating protects against dust and water damage under laboratory conditions.
Angus Ng, POCO’s global product marketing head, said the F7 represents the brand’s commitment to democratizing flagship features. The company aims to connect with tech-savvy Filipinos seeking premium experiences at accessible prices.
POCO exclusively sells the F7 through Shopee in Black, White, and Silver colorways. The 12GB+512GB model costs P19,499 during the launch promotion running through June 30. Buyers can use SPayLater installments or cash-on-delivery payment.
The device competes directly with Samsung’s Galaxy A-series and other mid-range Android phones popular among Filipino consumers. POCO has expanded to 98 global markets since spinning off from Xiaomi Corporation.
