Epson Philippines unveils game-changer printer with recycled materials

MANILA, Philippines (Jul 2025) – Epson has launched its first mid-range A3 mono printer designed for Filipino offices needing speed and efficiency. The new WorkForce Enterprise AM-M5500 delivers 55 pages per minute while occupying minimal space, addressing common challenges in Philippine workplaces.

This printer targets businesses with heavy document demands. It features a compact design ideal for cramped offices yet handles high-volume printing needs. The AM-M5500 becomes Epson’s inaugural A3 mono model in its WorkForce Enterprise series.

Beyond printing, the device scans documents at 70 images per minute single-sided or 140 double-sided. It supports Optical Character Recognition to create searchable PDFs, though the OCR unit requires separate purchase according to a press release obtained by our editors.

Users get a modern interface with a 10.1-inch tiltable touchscreen. This display maintains consistency across Epson’s AM-series models. The printer offers expansion options including dual paper cassettes and various finishers like stapling and booklet-making units.

Epson emphasizes environmental benefits. The Heat-Free Technology cuts energy use by 85% compared to lasers. Plastic components contain 30% recycled material while packaging uses 80% recycled paper. Real-time power monitoring and paper-saving prompts appear during duplex operations.

“The AM-M5500 transforms high-volume printing for Philippine businesses,” said Epson Philippines President Masako Kusama. “It combines speed, eco-efficiency and space-saving design – crucial for our market.”
