Starting today, Puregold Perks and Tindahan ni Aling Puring members in NCR can enjoy up to P5 worth of cash rebates for every eco bag used in place of plastic bags.

In a press release, Puregold revealed that the company’s purchase of single-use plastic bags is down 40% in 2021 thanks to its customer’s conscious effort to make sustainable choices. Puregold also disclosed that almost half of their stores have either completely cut out single-use plastic bags or shifted to more sustainable materials such as recycled carton boxes or eco bags.
In addition to its “Walang Plastik Mondays” (Walastik Mondays) campaign, Puregold has other sustainability projects in the pipeline such as converting 100% of its lighting to LED to reduce energy consumption and streamlining its logistics operations in order to reduce carbon emission by 36%.
Puregold proudly revealed that its 135 wastewater treatment facilities are compliant with government regulations, and that it also has ventures into so-called Rainwater Catchment, Gray Water reuse, and other water savings facilities to reduce the company’s water consumption.
