Someone is back in town who’s stronger and much better!
SBTown and (co-managed) Universal Records re-introduced their lovable and now P-pop soloist, Darlene Vibares or simply “Darlene”, with her very first solo single “DayDream.”
During a media conference held last February 16, the 19-year-old artist happily announced her official return to the world of P-pop, showing a different side of her individuality never seen before during her career as a YGIG (You Go I Go) member.
“During YGIG po, that Darlene is very fierce and powerful. Nakilala po kasi ako as a very strong person sa group, and ang pinagkaiba po siguro ngayon, now that I’m a soloist, I want to show more my light aura and mas bright, and mas natural. Mailalabas ang sarili ko,” she said.
The P-pop soloist also revealed how she contributed mostly in the creation of the song, “When it comes to making lyrics po, mga 95% po yung naiaambag ko with making my own music kasi po hindi po ako yung mismo nagpo-produce ng beat and sounds. “
Matching her fresh and vibrant image, Darlene’s single, “DayDream”, features colorful and bubbly vibes about the beauty of falling in love and daydreaming about someone.
Recorded in South Korea, it has a notable hip-hop vibe with kitsch trap beats and hyperpop guitar chopping that showcases her versatile vocals, melodic prowess, and fresh, lively delivery.
Did you know that Darlene was also part of the search for The Voice Kids almost 10 years ago and her batchmates were Darren Espanto, JK Labajo and grand champ Lyca Gairanod?!
A special video message from batchmate Darren was shown as a surprise treat for Darlene. He said that he’s happy for Darlene’s comeback and wishes her the best and that he also looks forward to reuniting with her and the others really soon. Now that would be really cool!
From The Voice Kids, she debuted as one of the powerful vocalists of the girl group, YGIG, last November 2022. But due to health concerns, with a heavy heart, Darlene decided to leave the group in 2023 to focus on recovering.
Darlene is under the supervision of SBTown’s CEO, Mr. Geong Seong Han, SBTalent Camp’s South Korean trainer, Ms. Adelaide Hong, and is co-managed by Ms. Kathleen Dy-Go of Universal Records.
Present to support her at the presscon were Ms Adelaide and Ms Kathleen who wished Darlene all the best!
Expect to see more of Darlene’s performances in the days and months ahead.
She’s back and she’s better than ever. Darlene is ready to capture everyone’s heart with her debut single “Daydream”; striking a remarkable start with her journey, announcing that THIS IS HER NOW!
Congrats Darlene, SBTown and Universal Records Philippines and thank you for having us.
