realme C67 build quality, design

realme has evidently invested meticulous attention into the construction of the C67, resulting in a device that not only embodies modern aesthetics but also excels in practicality. The smartphone’s design is a harmonious blend of form and functionality, making it stand out in the crowded budget smartphone arena.

realme C67 boasts a slim profile, measuring a mere 7.59mm in thickness, made possible in part by reducing the gap in the display. This sleek design not only contributes to its visual appeal but also enhances the overall ergonomics, ensuring a comfortable grip and one-handed usability. Despite its slender build, the phone feels robust and well-constructed, a noteworthy achievement in the budget smartphone realm where compromises in build quality are often expected.

The choice of materials and finishes further enhances the device’s tactile appeal. realme offers the C67 in two captivating color variants – Sunny Oasis and Black Rock. The Sunny Oasis variant, with its dynamic three-color gradient coating, creates a mesmerizing light effect.

This isn’t just a visual treat; it’s a technical achievement utilizing a 20nm-thick process, giving the phone’s back a color-changing sheen under different lighting conditions. On the other hand, the Black Rock variant opts for a more understated elegance, featuring a starry finish that exudes sophistication.

Triple card slot – realme C67

The camera module’s design is not just functional but also adds a touch of elegance to the phone’s overall look. Placed thoughtfully on the back, shiny rings encircle each lens, adding a subtle yet stylish element to the device – a departure from the usual iPhone look that has flooded the market.

Durability is not compromised in the pursuit of aesthetics. Realme C67 comes equipped with IP54 certification, providing resistance against dust and water splashes. This feature is a welcome addition, considering the unpredictable nature of daily use and accidental exposure to elements like rain or spills.

The realme C67 also packs a triple card slot – a popular feature among Filipino budget phone users.

realme C67 display, audio

The Realme C67’s display is a standout feature in the budget smartphone segment, offering users a visual experience that defies the traditional expectations associated with affordable devices. The expansive 6.72-inch IPS LCD screen takes center stage, providing ample screen real estate for various multimedia activities.

Featuring a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, the display ensures clarity and sharpness, aligning well with its generous screen size. The 20:9 aspect ratio contributes to an elongated display, ideal for tasks like reading, browsing, and enjoying videos. Realme goes a step further by incorporating a 90Hz refresh rate, a notable enhancement over the standard 60Hz found in many budget phones. This higher refresh rate delivers a smoother scrolling experience, enhancing user interaction and providing a more immersive feel, particularly noticeable during gaming sessions.

The display’s peak brightness of 950 nits is a remarkable feature, ensuring legibility even in bright outdoor conditions. The typical brightness of 800 nits further contributes to a vivid and clear visual experience for indoor use. While the IPS LCD panel may not match the deep blacks of AMOLED displays, it impresses with reasonably accurate colors and satisfactory contrast levels, making it suitable for everyday tasks and media consumption.

The realme C67’s display doesn’t just stop at visuals; it also caters to audio enthusiasts. Equipped with stereo speakers, the device delivers a surprisingly robust audio experience for its price range. realme also retained the 3.5mm audio jack in the C67. This inclusion is a significant advantage for users who prefer using traditional wired headphones or earphones, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of audio peripherals.

realme C67 productivity

Beyond its visual and auditory prowess, the realme C67 steps into the realm of productivity with a thoughtful blend of hardware and performance optimization. Powered by the Qualcomm SM6225 Snapdragon 685 chipset, the device leverages a 6 nm process technology to strike a balance between efficiency and performance.

The octa-core CPU configuration, featuring 4×2.8 GHz Cortex-A73 and 4×1.9 GHz Cortex-A53 cores, ensures that everyday tasks are handled with ease. Whether it’s web browsing, social media engagement, or streaming content, the realme C67 exhibits a commendable level of responsiveness, providing a smooth user experience for the average consumer.

About phone – realme C67

realme offers the C67 in two configurations: 128GB with 8GB RAM and 256GB with 8GB RAM. The generous amount of RAM ensures efficient multitasking, allowing users to switch between apps seamlessly. The dedicated microSDXC slot further adds a layer of flexibility, enabling users to expand storage as needed.

In day-to-day use, the device admirably handles common productivity tasks, from managing emails to using productivity apps. The Snapdragon 685, though not the latest chipset, proves to be efficient for light to moderate usage.

realme C67 benchmarks

Benchmark tests reflect the Realme C67’s position as budget mid-ranger. While it may not aim to break performance records, the realme C67 provides a reliable and consistent user experience. However, the overall experience is dragged down by poor storage speeds, which barely break transfer speeds of 200MBps.

Effective heat management ensures that the Realme C67 maintains stability even during prolonged usage.

Benchmark scores:

  • AnTuTu: 314383
  • PCMark Work 3.0: 6901
  • PassMark: 8249

realme C67 gaming

realme C67 faces a significant challenge in the realm of gaming due to a specific hardware choice. The device is powered by the Snapdragon 685 chipset, a 4G mid-range processor from Qualcomm. While this chipset efficiently handles everyday tasks, its gaming performance is hampered by the device’s use of eMMC storage.

WATCH: realme C67 gaming review

The realme C67’s Achilles’ heel becomes apparent during gaming sessions, primarily due to the eMMC storage architecture, an older technology that lags behind in transfer rates compared to the more modern UFS storage. Users may encounter frustratingly long loading times in between game sessions, especially when compared to devices equipped with UFS storage.

Gaming Mobile Legends MLBB Saber – realme C67

It’s crucial to note that while the Snapdragon 685 chipset is capable of handling less demanding games smoothly, the bottleneck created by the eMMC storage becomes apparent when dealing with more resource-intensive titles.

Games like Genshin Impact are playable on the Lowest graphics settings, while PUBG Mobile maxes out at High. It also struggles with Carx Street, which requires a bit of tweaking. It coasts through properly optimized games like Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), which supports the highest graphics and refresh rate setting of Super Ultra.

realme C67 camera

At the heart of the realme C67’s camera system is the impressive 108 MP main sensor. It is capable of delivering up to 3x in-sensor zoom, a standout feature that elevates the device’s imaging capabilities in the budget smartphone category.

In well-lit conditions, the Realme C67’s camera delivers high-resolution images with vibrant colors and a balanced dynamic range. The 108 MP main sensor ensures that photos retain clarity even when zoomed in, providing users with the ability to capture intricate details. The device’s camera app enhances the photography experience with various modes and settings, offering flexibility and creative control to users.

The daylight performance of the camera is particularly noteworthy, producing images that stand out in terms of resolution and color accuracy. The large megapixel count contributes to detailed and vibrant photos.

The device’s camera capabilities extend to low-light scenarios, where the Night Mode feature comes into play. This mode intelligently reduces noise and enhances clarity in dimly lit conditions, providing users with the ability to capture captivating photos even in challenging environments.

WATCH: realme C67 camera test (main)

Video recording on the realme C67 supports 1080p at 30 fps, backed by gyro-EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization) for improved stability. This feature becomes particularly useful for users recording videos on the move, reducing shake and jitter commonly associated with handheld video recording.

The camera app’s interface remains intuitive, allowing quick access to different modes and settings, contributing to a user-friendly photography and videography experience.

WATCH: realme C67 camera test (selfie)

On the front, the Realme C67 houses an 8 MP selfie camera, competent for capturing clear and natural-looking selfies. While the megapixel count may seem modest compared to some competitors, the front camera performs well for everyday use, including video calling and casual vlogging. The inclusion of 1080p video recording for the front camera further enhances its versatility, however, it severely lacks detail and sharpness.

relme C67 battery life, charging

realme C67 packs a 5,000 mAh battery that aligns with the current standards for mid-range smartphones, ensuring that the device can easily last through a full day of mixed usage. However, what shocked us was the battery life – we were able to pull 18 hours on Wi-Fi which is above and beyond the current norm.

Complementing its substantial battery life, the realme C67 introduces the convenience of 33W SuperVOOC fast charging. This feature ensures that users can swiftly replenish their device’s battery when needed.

realme C67 battery life benchmark results (Wi-Fi mode):

  • AccuBattery: 17 hours 10 minutes
  • PCMark Work 3.0 battery life benchmark: 8 hours 5 minutes

realme C67 value for money, verdict

realme C67 is a decent budget mid-range phone for casual users. Photography and video enthusiasts may be drawn to its 108MP main camera with up to 3x in-sensor zoom. However, the lackluster 8MP selfie camera might hold back the more serious content creators.

As an entertainment device, its vivid display and dual (stereo) loudspeakers will surely leave you satisifed. It also comes with a 3.5mm audio jack, expanding its versatility.

Gaming Mobile Legends MLBB Miya – realme C67

The biggest drawback of the phone is its EMMC storage, whose transfer rates may deter serious gamers.

Its retail price of P9,999 for the 128GB variant may raise a few eyebrows. At its promo price of P7,699 however, the realme C67 may turn a few heads.

As a brand that gained attention and market share with its value-driven budget devices, realme appears to be struggling to elevate and break away from what its customers have gotten used to. Its founder and CEO, Sky Li, set a new mandate at the beginning of the year, steering away from opportunity in order to focus more on the brand. Only time will tell how this all plays out.
