MANILA, Philippines (May 20) – Gamers and heavy phone users, get ready: realme is set to launch its GT 7 Series, a smartphone lineup it calls the “Battery Life Leader,” featuring an industry-first 7000mAh battery combined with 120W fast charging. This new technology aims to eliminate low-battery warnings and lengthy charging breaks.
The announcement follows the release of realme’s white paper, “The Future of Battery Tech,” developed with global testing organization TÜV Rheinland, according to a press release obtained by our editors. This paper highlights realme’s efforts in battery innovation.
realme’s research indicates a growing demand for longer battery life and faster charging. The company notes that traditional lithium-ion batteries are facing limitations, such as aging quickly and charging slowly, which affects overall device performance.
To address these challenges, realme is introducing next-generation solutions. These include ultra-fast charging and smarter, more durable batteries. The company cited its 320W fast-charging system, which uses magnetic-coupling DCX step-down technology, capable of fully charging a concept phone in 4 minutes and 30 seconds. realme also stated it has improved battery lifespan and safety through optimized multi-cell configurations, a precision Battery Management System (BMS), and AI integration, specifically considering Filipino users who rely on their phones throughout the day.
The centerpiece of the new series is the 7000mAh battery paired with 120W fast charging. realme highlights that batteries of this capacity were previously limited to slower charging speeds, typically 80W or less, due to safety concerns. The GT 7 Series aims to break this barrier, charging from 0 to 100% in approximately 40 minutes. This allows for extended use, such as up to 8.9 hours of Mobile Legends gameplay, according to the company. This innovation seeks to balance charging speed, battery longevity, and safety.
The global launch of the realme GT 7 Series is scheduled for May 27 in Paris, France. Filipino tech enthusiasts and gamers will not have to wait long, as the smartphone will also debut in the Philippines via a live broadcast. realme has indicated that more performance features will be revealed during the launch.
