MAKATI, Philippines – Redmi Note 8 Pro, the first-ever 64MP quad-camera smartphone, will be available in the Philippines starting October 12.

Its quad-camera module features a 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide angle sensor (120 degrees), a 2MP depth sensor, as well as a 2MP macro camera that lets you take photos as close as 2 centimeters away.

The latest in Xiaomi’s popular Redmi Note series is powered by the MediaTek Helio G90T processor clocked at 2.05 GHz, and features LiquidCool, a cooling system that first mades its way into the Pocophone F1.

The Redmi Note 8 Pro features a 6.53-inch IPS LCD screen with Gorilla Glass 4. A minimal dot drop notch surrounds the 20MP selfie camera, bringing its screen-to-body ratio up to 91.4%.

The Note 8 Pro also features a much larger battery compared to its predecessor at 4,500 mAh.

Xiaomi also launched the Redmi Note 8, a lightweight, Snapdragon 665-powered model that features a 6.3-inch screen, a 48MP quad-camera module, and a 4000 mAh battery.

Both the Redmi Note 8 and the Redmi Note 8 Pro come with USB Type-C and 3.5mm audio ports, as well as a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Price and availability (Philippines)

Redmi Note 8 Pro is priced at P11,490 (6GB + 64GB) and P12,990 (6GB + 128GB), respectively. Color options include Forest Green, Mineral Gray, and Pearl.

Redmi Note 8 is priced P8,990 (4GB + 64GB). Color options include Space Black, Neptune Blue, and Moonlight White.

The phones will go on sale at Mi Authorized Stores and Lazada starting October 12.

Xiaomi will be bringing two more variants of the Redmi Note 8 later this year, priced at P7,990 (3GB + 32GB) and P9,990 (4GB + 128GB).
