MANILA, Philippines – ROG Zephyrus S GX531 is now available in the Philippines, and it will retail at 129,995 PHP.
First launched at Gamescom 2018 along with the ROG Strix GL704 SCAR Edition back in August, the ROG Zephyrus S is the most compact 17.3-inch gaming laptop from ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG).
Based on data from GfK, ASUS ROG laptops took the lead in 2017 in gaming notebook activations, with 50.9% and 53% market share in end user purchases during May and June 2018.
Only 14.95mm~15.75mm thick, the Zephyrus S is 12% thinner than its predecessor, the Zephyrus (GX501). However, its compact frame packs packs an Intel Core i7-8750H CPU and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 discrete GPU with Max-Q design.
It is equipped with DDR4 2666 MHz memory (RAM) and 512 GB NVMe SSD storage. Connectivity is provided via 802.11ac Wave 2 Wi-Fi antenna. Ports include 2 x USB Type-C ports, 3 x USB Type-A ports, a full-size HDMI 2.0 display port, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
It also comes with dual speakers with built-in smart amplifier, and a 4-cell battery rated at 50 Whrs.
Super-narrow bezels squeeze a 15.6-inch display with 144Hz refresh rate and 3ms response time, while an advanced cooling system ensures optimal performance through ASUS’ proprietary Active Aerodynamic System (AAS) — a design and engineering hallmark of the Zephyrus series.
Integrated RGB lighting can be found in the keyboard, and in the AAS vent area, which can be controlled through ASUS’ Aura Sync software to coordinate with compatible peripherals like the ROG Delta headset and Gladius II Origin mouse.
Zephyrus S comes with the all-new ROG Armoury Crate software, formerly known as the ROG Game Center. It unifies ROG hardware controls through a single utility that makes essential functions easily accessible.
System settings and Aura Sync lighting are easily adjusted on the fly, or a user can define preferences for both — with up to four profiles — that make adjustments automatically when the selected titles load. Armoury Crate comes with a companion Mobile Dashboard for Android and iOS, and more capabilities are due in future updates.
