The Rundown 2019: Critical Conversations for Future Generations [event]

The youth today is one that strives to speak up and fight for what they believe in. They all have their own advocacies which may range from topics on politics, human rights, environment, and many others. In the same way, the youth would also want to be involved citizens as the 2019 senatorial elections approach. Many want to vote for the right people who could serve our country excellently. With that, we, now more than ever, must seek to be educated, critical, and attentive thinkers as we learn more about the aspiring leaders of the country— with The Rundown 2019.

The University of the Philippines Economics Society established The Rundown back in 2013. Ever since then, it has been a notable youth-oriented senatorial debate forum organized by the youth, for the youth. The event, which will be held on February 28, 2019 in the GT Toyota Asian Center, serves as a platform for senatorial candidates to interact with the youth. Ultimately, it educates and empowers young voters.

This year, The Rundown 2019 focuses on the importance of Critical Conversations for Future Generations. The digital age gave birth to a new brand of youth activism and empowerment, but we must be wary of the problem of disinformation. The Rundown 2019 then encourages the youth to be more informed as they decide who will lead our country for the betterment of the nation and its people.
