MANILA, Philippines (Mar 2025) — A majority of Filipinos believe artificial intelligence (AI) enhances creativity and efficiency, with six in ten inclined to buy AI-powered smartphones and home appliances, according to a recent study by Samsung Electronics.
The survey, which gathered insights from over 2,600 consumers across Southeast Asia, highlights the growing enthusiasm of Filipinos for AI-driven technology. The findings show that AI adoption in the Philippines is primarily driven by its potential to simplify daily tasks, improve communication, and boost productivity.
AI in Everyday Filipino Life
Filipinos use AI extensively for writing (44%), language translation (42%), and problem-solving (39%)—figures that surpass regional averages. Beyond productivity, AI plays a role in creativity, with nearly half (48%) using it for photo editing and 42% leveraging it for entertainment and idea generation. Quick information retrieval is also a key use case, with 41% relying on AI-powered search.
In mobile devices, AI-assisted photo editing, improved search functions, and automated content summarization are among the most sought-after features. The demand underscores a preference for tools that enhance both efficiency and creativity.
AI-Powered Galaxy S25 Series
With Filipinos showing increasing interest in AI-powered devices, Samsung’s latest flagship, the Galaxy S25 series, is designed to meet these evolving needs. It introduces an enhanced suite of Galaxy AI features, including multimodal AI agents that process text, speech, images, and video for seamless interactions.
New AI-driven tools such as Circle to Search, Browsing Assist, and Now Brief streamline tasks, while Portrait Studio and Drawing Assist support creative expression. Powering these features is the Snapdragon® 8 Elite chipset, offering improvements in AI processing, graphics, and gaming performance.
Bringing AI to More Filipinos
Samsung’s Head of Mobile Experience in the Philippines, Jun Guevara, emphasized the company’s commitment to integrating AI into daily life: “Earlier this year at CES, we introduced our vision of AI as an ‘Everyday, Everywhere’ experience. The Galaxy S25 series builds on this by delivering a more natural and context-aware mobile experience, reinforcing our leadership in AI innovation.”
