Samsung bets on AI-driven future at CES 2024

NEVADA, USA — In a remarkable presentation at CES 2024, Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. unveiled its ‘AI for All’ vision, emphasizing the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in enhancing the connected device experience. The company’s strategy, outlined at a press conference on Jan. 8, revolves around making the use of connected devices safer, more inclusive, and energy-efficient.

Samsung’s vision, as detailed by Jong-Hee (JH) Han, Vice Chairman, CEO, and Head of Samsung’s Device eXperience (DX) Division, places AI at the forefront of intuitive and convenient user experiences. The focus is on creating connected experiences that are both simple and practical, ensuring AI remains a nonintrusive yet integral part of daily life.

One of the highlights of the press conference was the introduction of the Samsung Neo QLED 8K QN900D. Equipped with the NQ8 AI Gen 3 processor, this device represents a significant leap in visual display technology, offering unparalleled viewing experiences. The TV features advanced AI capabilities like automatic upscaling to 8K quality and AI Motion Enhancer Pro for sharper images.

In addition to technological advancements, Samsung’s commitment to inclusivity was evident in their accessibility features. The Samsung Neo QLED includes gesture-controlled sign language features and real-time audio subtitles, catering to a diverse range of needs.

The press conference also saw the introduction of The Premiere 8K, a groundbreaking projector with wireless 8K transmission, and the Music Frame speaker, designed to integrate seamlessly into home environments while delivering high-quality audio.

Samsung’s Ballie, the rolling AI robot, was another center of attention. Evolving since its debut at CES 2020, Ballie now serves as a dynamic AI companion, interacting with other smart devices to offer personalized services.

The company’s SmartThings platform, highlighted by Jaeyeon Jung, Executive Vice President and Head of SmartThings, underlines Samsung’s vision for smarter home automation. The platform’s March upgrade will feature a 3D Map View and enhanced integration for more personalized experiences.

Furthermore, Samsung announced a significant partnership with Hyundai Motor Group, focusing on Home-to-Car and Car-to-Home services through SmartThings connectivity. This collaboration underscores the convergence of home and automotive technologies, offering users unparalleled control and convenience.

Samsung also stressed the importance of security and privacy in this hyper-connected era. With solutions like Samsung Knox Matrix and Knox Vault, the company ensures robust security across its device ecosystem.
