Samsung is the latest major brand to support Pinoy eSports in this year’s Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League

Gen Z is known for being digitally savvy, and their cultural influence is reshaping traditional beliefs about online entertainment. According to a study, one of the things that Gen Z enjoys is mobile gaming. It not only allows them to unwind but also allows them to socialize with their friends.

During the height of the pandemic, mobile gaming apps registered the highest growth usage in the Philippines, based on Global Web Index. In addition, 98% of Filipinos aged 16 to 64 own a smartphone and from these users, 72% are into mobile gaming. From these gaming apps, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang took the top spot based on active users.

With the growing popularity of mobile gaming, Samsung Philippines has partnered with international gaming developer, MOONTON Games to strengthen its presence in the gaming scene, further solidifying the role of its products to gamers and streamers in the country. Samsung already begun to tap the gaming community with its Galaxy A Series, positioning it as the best affordable mobile gaming phone for all.

This year, Samsung Philippines is officially taking the lead to expand its local e-sports initiatives by sponsoring the upcoming Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League in the Philippines starting February 18, 2022. The new season will bring more challenges to gamers nationwide while featuring well-known esports players like Bren Esports, ECHO, Smart Omega, Nexplay EVOS, TNC Pro, RSG Philippines, ONIC PH, and the defending champion Blacklist International.

The partnership will support all Mobile Legends: Bang Bang initiatives aimed at connecting Gen Z and Millennial gamers nationwide.
