MANILA, Philippines (Jun 2026) — Samsung is expanding its Galaxy A lineup with a new mid-range phone that punches above its price class, and Pinoy buyers won’t have to wait long to get their hands on one.

The Samsung Galaxy A27 5G goes on sale in the Philippines starting July 10, 2026, and it’s bringing a bigger screen, a faster processor, and a longer software support window than most phones at this price point.

A screen that fills the whole front

The A27 5G carries a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate — the same screen size you’d find on flagships, now available at a more accessible price. Samsung has also shrunk the bezels and tightened up the punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera, giving the display a cleaner, more balanced look. The phone itself measures just 7.8mm thin and weighs 200g.

More power under the hood

Running the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chip built on a 4nm process, the A27 5G promises snappier app switching and smoother gaming compared to its predecessor. It comes in two storage configurations: 6GB RAM with 128GB storage, and 8GB RAM with 256GB storage, with microSD support for up to 2TB of additional space.

On the camera side, the rear setup includes a 50MP main shooter with optical image stabilization, a 5MP ultrawide, and a 2MP macro lens. The front camera gets an upgrade to 12MP, which Samsung says captures more natural-looking selfies across a wider range of lighting conditions.

AI features that actually do things

The A27 5G ships with Samsung’s Awesome Intelligence suite, including an upgraded Circle to Search that can now identify multiple objects in a single image — handy for shopping or tracking down outfit inspo. Object Eraser gets a precision boost for cleaner photo edits, and the Voice Recorder app can now transcribe and translate in real time across 22 languages.

The phone also supports Google Gemini and Perplexity as AI assistants, alongside Bixby for hands-free device control.

Six years of updates

One of the A27 5G’s biggest selling points is longevity. Samsung is promising six generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades, plus six years of security patches from the global launch date. The phone also ships with Android 16 and One UI 8.5 out of the box, which is ahead of most competitors at this tier.

Security is handled by Samsung Knox Vault, and the phone carries an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance. Battery capacity sits at 5,000mAh with 25W wired fast charging.

How much and where to buy

The Galaxy A27 5G is available in Black, Blue, and Light Pink. Philippine pricing hasn’t been officially published at the time of writing — check samsung.com/ph for confirmed prices.

For launch purchases made until September 15, 2026, Samsung is bundling in savings of up to PHP 3,639 (approx. $62), which includes a PHP 1,500 discount, a free travel adapter, and a Jisulife fan. The phone will be sold through samsung.com, Samsung Experience and Authorized Stores, and Samsung’s flagship shops on Lazada and Shopee.
