NEW YORK, United States (Jul 2025) — Samsung has unveiled its latest wearable lineup, the Galaxy Watch8 and Galaxy Watch8 Classic, combining iconic design with smarter, more personalized wellness tools aimed at making healthier lifestyles more accessible to users — including Filipinos who are becoming increasingly health-conscious.
Sleeker, lighter, and more comfortable than ever, the new Galaxy Watch8 series takes its design cues from the cushion-shaped Galaxy Watch Ultra. The revamped internal structure has made it Samsung’s thinnest smartwatch yet, 11% slimmer with a 30% improvement in component mounting. This not only boosts comfort but also improves the accuracy of health tracking.
Users in the Philippines can expect premium performance even outdoors. The screen now peaks at 3,000 nits for better readability under sunlight, while a more efficient battery and 3nm processor keep things fast and long-lasting. The upgraded BioActive Sensor provides detailed health insights in real time.
Sleep and stress monitoring also get a major upgrade. Features like Bedtime Guidance, Vascular Load, and a new Antioxidant Index — a first in any smartwatch — allow users to better understand their bodies while building healthier habits. Filipinos, many of whom struggle with sleep and stress, can benefit from these tools in their daily routines.
The Galaxy Watch8 series also includes a new Running Coach that assesses fitness from a scale of 1 to 10 and builds personalized workout plans. The Together feature gamifies fitness, letting users challenge friends and family, while the High Stress Alert and Mindfulness Tracker provide instant tools to manage mental well-being.
Samsung’s AI-powered Energy Score combines physical and mental indicators to give users a daily snapshot of their overall energy, helping them decide when to push through or take a break.
Powered by Wear OS 6 and One UI 8 Watch, Galaxy Watch8 is the first smartwatch to ship with Gemini, Google’s AI assistant. It allows users to send texts, find cafes, or start workouts using just their voice. The new UI design also improves navigation through features like Multi-Info Tiles and the Now Bar.
In the Philippines, Galaxy Watch8 and Galaxy Watch8 Classic are available for pre-order until July 31, with general availability starting August 1. The 44mm and 40mm Galaxy Watch8 comes in Graphite and Silver, while the 46mm Galaxy Watch8 Classic adds a traditional rotating bezel in Black or White.
Outdoor adventurers may prefer the Galaxy Watch Ultra, which offers titanium builds, the longest battery life in the lineup, and the most durable construction.
The Galaxy Watch8 starts at ₱20,990, while the Watch8 Classic is priced from ₱29,990. The rugged Galaxy Watch Ultra retails for ₱40,990.
