The Academy of Rock, an award winning music school in Singapore, reached out to Bantay Bata 163 by holding a charity concert entitled, “We Are Young” at the Music Museum.
The concert was more than the good music and talented performers. Its ticket proceeds were given to Bantay Bata to help impoverished, sick, and abused children.
“It’s an awesome feeling having to raise funds for Bantay Bata” said Marites Seno, the General Manager of Academy of Rock International. “We do have this motto that, ‘It is never too early, never too late’. So every one of us can actually help.”
Aside from organizing a charity concert, the Academy of Rock also treated the children of Bantay Bata 163 for lunch and gave musical instruments to Bantay Bata 163 Laguna that can help children develop their skills and talents.
“Music is a positive thing. We see it as a positive influence for the children. It helps them to nurture their talents.” Says Zainal Abdullah, the International Manager of Academy of Rock, Singapore.
