MANILA, Philippines – While everyone was busy with APEC week the folks over at Sky Broadband just did a ninja-edit and added a new 50Mbps Ultra High Speed Broadband service at 2,899 PHP / month.
That is potentially 6.25 MBps for you tech geeks out there, enough bandwidth to pull two 3 Megabyte MP3 files faster than you can say “ultra high speed”.
Just last month we announced Sky’s new Broadband Internet packages, which starts at 1,999 PHP / month for 16 Mbps. The updated plans also included a 25 Mbps plan for 3,999 PHP / month.
At 2,899 PHP the 50 Mbps plan is now actually cheaper than the 25 MBps plan.
It comes with the standard 1,599 PHP installation fee and a 24-month lock-in period. According to the website there is no data cap. It also comes with HBO GO and the Sky On Demand service.
The good thing about this new plan is that it is immediately available in Metro Manila, Cebu, Dumaguete, and Davao.
Folks living in Cavite, Laguna, Baguio, Bacolod, and Iloilo will have to stay tuned, since they are listed with on the website (albeit with an ‘x’) we can assume Sky will roll out the service in these areas soon enough.
