Movie goers of 2015 Metro Manila Film Festival entries were surprised when they were able to watch the teaser of Mars Ravelo’s classic “Darna.”
In the video uploaded in Youtube, the three minute teaser gives the audience a glimpse on some scenes of the film.
Netizens hinted as the next Darna will be Nadine Lustre or it will still be Angel Locsin based on the body type and the voice of the new Darna that they saw and heard in the teaser.
It could be remembered that social media buzzed with comments on who should reprise the role of Darna in the big screen after Angel Locsin dropped out of the project because of health reasons. Angel Locsin was diagnosed having a disc-bulged which she got during her preparation for the Darna role.
Among the names mentioned were the three hottest stars of the Kapamilya Network, namely, Nadine Lustre, Liza Soberano and Kathryn Bernardo.
In a Push.com.ph poll, 48 percent of the 6,000 respondents want to see Lustre play the iconic Filipino comic heroine while 24 percent and 8 percent are rooting for Soberano and Bernardo, respectively. Jessy Mendiola is also a strong contender for the role.
Before Locsin, “Darna” was portrayed by Marian Rivera, Gina Pareño, Anjanette Abayari, Nanette Medved, Sharon Cuneta, and Batangas Governor Vilma Santos-Recto.
