PHILIPPINES – Amid the series of ‘tanim bala’ scams plaguing the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) a group of local game developers has created a mobile game inspired by the controversy called Tanim Bala (Bullet Planter).
Developed by Kulit Games, you play the role of a poor traveller in NAIA. You move left and right in an effort to evade airport personnel as they attempt to drop bullets into your bag.
The game’s Google Play page contains the following description:
Tanim Bala (Bullet Planter)
These greedy Administrators want to plant a bullet in your bag and if they succeed.you’ll end up paying $1000. Of course you would not let them do that!
Now, you’d have to move the cursor from left to right as fast as you can to avoid the bullets that fall to your luggage.
Currently there does not appear to be an end-game as it will keep going on and on until you get caught by with a bullet planted in your bag.
A few players have pointed a glitch in the game where you can win by simply standing frozen in one spot.
Mark Jason Smooth writes:
May glitch akong nakita sa game pag tumayo ka sa gitna sa middle line di ka nila kayang lagyan ng bala xD hahaha
Val Enriquez adds:
For you to win the game all you need to do is stand right in the middle or do not move at all and just the game portrays IRL.. just stay where you are right now and dont ever move a muscle to NAIA.
It is not clear if this ‘glitch’ was intentionally done by the developers.
Tanim Bala (Bullet Planter) the game is currently available on Google Play under the Simulation category. There is no indication if the developers will be porting the game over to the iPhone App Store or Windows Mobile.
As of writing, the game has received 1-5 installs.
