MANILA, Philippines (Jun 2025) — Most TV brands talk about picture quality. TCL is showing what it actually looks like — and the numbers suggest people are paying attention.
According to research firm Omdia, TCL ranked No. 1 globally in shipment market share for 75-inch-and-above TVs in 2025, No. 1 in global Mini LED TV shipments for the same year, and No. 1 in global Google TV shipments every year from 2021 to 2025. That is not a single record — it is a pattern.
The technology behind those numbers is TCL’s latest SQD Mini LED platform, which the company says brings together three display upgrades designed to improve not just specs on paper but what viewers actually see on screen.
Brighter, sharper, more controlled
The first of the three is Precise Dimming, which gives the TV more granular control over light output across different zones of the screen. TCL says improvements to its lens design, backlight layout, and light control algorithms result in a more stable and clearer image — particularly during fast-moving scenes like live sports or action films.
Color that looks more like real life
The second technology, Super QLED, targets color accuracy. TCL says it has improved color gamut coverage, color purity, and blue light energy management, with the goal of producing colors that look vivid without appearing unnatural or oversaturated. The idea is that whether you are watching a nature documentary or a basketball game, the colors on screen more closely match what you would expect to see in real life.
Finer details in every shade
The third upgrade, Ultra Color Filter, works to clean up color impurities and improve subtle gradations between shades. TCL says this results in more depth and realism in the image, particularly in scenes with complex color detail like cinematic landscapes or grass on a football pitch.
Built from the inside out
What gives TCL an edge over brands that source displays from third parties is its manufacturing arm, TCL CSOT, which handles display production in-house. This vertical integration means the company controls the development pipeline from materials research to finished panel — giving it more flexibility to push display technology forward on its own timeline.
TCL says the SQD platform is not a one-time feature push but part of a longer-term approach to premium display development.
Specific pricing and Philippine availability for TCL’s SQD Mini LED TV lineup have not been announced at the time of writing.
