MANILA, Philippines (Aug 2025) — TECNO Philippines turned SM Fairview into a massive gaming hub over the weekend, unveiling the POVA 7 Ultra 5G at its two-day POVA Gaming Fiesta. More than 5,000 gamers joined the event, which featured a life-size PUBG Mobile battleground and hands-on demos highlighting the phone’s 120FPS gameplay and light-strip design.
The POVA 7 Ultra 5G is being positioned as the country’s first “triple-crown” esports phone after securing three major partnerships. It was announced as the Official Device for PUBG Mobile Challenger Leagues SEA (PMCL) 2025, giving players frame rate stability during high-level competition. TECNO also teamed up with DITO Telecommunity to release the country’s first prepaid gaming SIM, offering unlimited PUBG Mobile access when bundled with the new device. The launch was highlighted by a performance from P-pop group ALAMAT, who introduced the DITO x PUBG Mobile Gaming SIM. Opensignal recently recognized DITO as the Philippines’ fastest network, promising smoother gameplay with less lag.
Cultural relevance played a strong role in the event, with actress and cosplayer Myrtle Sarrosa renewing her role as POVA Chief Gaming Officer. Sarrosa appeared in cosplay inspired by a new PUBG Mobile skin, showcasing the POVA 7 Ultra 5G’s glowing design. “This phone isn’t just a tool, it’s your battle jewelry,” she told fans.
The POVA 7 Ultra 5G retails at P16,999 in Geek White and Geek Black. Buyers who pre-order until Aug. 21 can get a P1,000 discount plus three freebies: a POVA wireless powerbank, a special DITO prepaid gaming SIM, and a PUBG Mobile case card. Extra discounts are available through Skyro, while Home Credit offers up to 18 months of installment at 0% interest.
The launch ended with gamers crowding demo booths to test the device’s MediaTek Dimensity 8350 chipset and hyper gaming engine. With its triple esports endorsements, network partnership, and connection to cosplay culture, the POVA 7 Ultra 5G is shaping up to be a new benchmark for mobile gaming in the Philippines.
