MANILA, Philippines – Teleperformance (TP) Philippines has achieved a significant milestone by securing 1st Runner-Up for the Gender-Inclusive Workplace category at the 2024 UN Asia-Pacific Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) Awards. This marks the first time TP has been recognized by UN Women, the United Nations entity committed to gender equality and women empowerment.
Chief Operating Officer Tanya Famador and TP Women Chair Toni Tompar accepted the award, presented by UN Women Program Analyst Antoinette Santos, Australian Ambassador H.K. Yu, and Amy Baume from the UN Women Regional Office. The award affirms TP’s strides in fostering gender equality across its 27 sites in the Philippines.
TP has long championed inclusivity through initiatives like TP Women, a grassroots employee resource group. Since its establishment in 2019, TP Women has offered mentorship and support for over 35,000 female employees nationwide, creating spaces for leadership growth and community-building. These efforts align with the company’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) program, demonstrating a commitment to breaking barriers and inspiring change.
The company’s innovative TP Cloud Campus, launched to adapt to new workplace dynamics, has bolstered local economies and expanded remote work opportunities. With hubs in Laoag and General Santos City, over 60% of the Cloud Campus workforce comprises women. The setup has not only empowered women economically but also redistributed domestic responsibilities, benefiting solo parents, persons with disabilities, and working students.
“This award motivates us to deepen our efforts in advancing gender equality within TP and across the communities we touch,” said Famador.
UN Women’s Asia-Pacific WEPs Awards recognize businesses driving gender equality in alignment with the Women’s Empowerment Principles. TP’s achievement underscores its leadership in inclusivity, innovation, and socio-economic impact.
