The 24th Pelicula-Pelikula Spanish Film Festival Returns to Makati for Free Viewing

Recently announced during their media launch at the majestic Centro Turismo in Intramuros moderated by Senyor Jose Maria Fons Guardiola, Instituto Cervantes de Manila, the 24th PELÍCULA-PELIKULA Spanish Film Festival is happening from October 10 to 16, 2025, at Ayala Triangle Gardens and Power Plant Cinemas, Makati.

Organized by the Instituto Cervantes in Manila, this annual celebration has become one of the region’s most significant showcases of Spanish-language films, attracting both avid cinephiles and casual moviegoers.

This year’s festival presents 16 films from Spain and Latin America, covering a diverse range of stories and genres. Highlights include “El 47,” a Spanish biopic about a bus driver who helped transform Barcelona in the 1970s; “Un Hombre Libre,” a documentary on exiled Andalusian writer Agustín Gómez Arcos; and “Robotia,” an animated tale about an android who dreams of becoming a footballer. Latin American selections include “Por tu bien” from Argentina, “Até que a Música Pare” from Brazil, and “Reinas” from Peru.

In addition to feature-length films, the festival introduces “En Corto,” a program of short films from the Philippines, Spain, and Latin America, and invites audiences to participate in the Audience Choice Award.

PELÍCULA-PELIKULA runs from October 10-11 at the Ayala Triangle Gardens and October 12-16 at the Power Plant Cinemas in Makati. All screenings are free of charge and will be shown with English subtitles.

Hasta luego amigos!
