#ToMiho Debut in Ipaglaban Mo Episode “Pangako”

When was the last time you’ve watched an episode of “Ipaglaban Mo”? As you would recall, the program is hosted by real life legal men, Atty. Jose and with his son Jopet Sison. Every week they would tackle and discuss different conflicts involving legal aspects.
“Ipaglaban Mo”  strengthened its commitment to serve by also offering free legal consultations to the public with Atty. Jose and Jopet Sison every week in partnership with ABS-CBN’s Tulong Center located in ABS-CBN compound.

This Saturday (October 1) don’t fail to watch reel and real-life couple Tommy Esguerra and Miho Nishida, also dubbed as ‘ToMiho,’ topbill their first “Ipaglaban Mo” episode  that tells the story of a woman who fights for her child’s rights.
Bessy (Miho) works as a waitress in a steakhouse owned by Matthew’s (Tommy) family. Matthew, who is an American citizen, has always been smitten with Bessy. Unfortunately, Bessy already fell in love with American soldier Jeremy even before he can tell her what he truly feels.

Bessy and Jeremy live under one roof with their baby. Everything seem to be going well in her life until Jeremy goes to the U.S. and fails to come back.

How will Bessy chase after Jeremy? What will Matthew do to help Bessy? Is she ready to open her heart for new love?
In a recent press conference, we got the chance to be with the couple who shared their experiences in making the episode and much more.

Covering his previous events, it was nice to see Tommy again this time with lovey dovey Miho. I asked him how has his Tagalog improved for the Ipaglaban Mo episode?

Smiling, he replied, “Uhhhm, 20%??? Yes I have been attending classes and workshops but it’s a lot better when you have a one-on-one. I admire Gerard Anderson, his Tagalog is great from the time he started!”

Don’t worry Tommy, your Tagalog is a work in progress! Just keep improving.
Tommy even gamely took part in a tongue twister challenge in saying the famous, “Botika, Bituka, Butiki” several times. At first he got it jumbled up as he was assisted by Miho in pronouncing these tricky Tagalog words. After 20 minutes, just kidding, Tommy was able to say all three local words to our satisfaction. Hoooooray!

I also took advantage of  asking Miho if she was able to relate in her role as a single mom in real life being one herself? Miho has a child from a previous relationship.

“Opo, naka-relate po ako dito. Kasi hindi biro ang maging single mom. Sa tulong ni direk, nagawa ko naman po ng maayos.” she shares.

Emerging from PBB reality show, with MIho as the big winner, both of them recently celebrated their first year out of the PBB House and ninth month as BF/GF. Tommy and Miho went back and guested in the show. They both felt sentimental because it also brought back memories of their first meet and how Tommy fell for her.

Miho has good words of her beau because he also loves her daughter Aimi a lot and treats her as if his own. And just like what Tommy would always say regarding his affection for Miho, he loves her sincerely and unconditionally.

“Ipaglaban Mo” is currently celebrating its second year on air. Since the show premiered on ABS-CBN in 2014, the show has been consistently captivating viewers in its timeslot because of its timely and relevant stories that not only showcase good values, but also informs viewers of their rights.

I am personally excited for this episode featuring #ToMiho.  They both grew up in two different cultures  and yet they are both happy and adjusting to each other’s weakness. And I believe that’s what true love should really be all about.
