As a 53-year-old mother of 5 adults, I must admit that I’m not the most tech-savvy person out there. However, I’ve recently been learning to appreciate modern technology, especially when it comes to managing my finances. That’s why I decided to seek out ways I can learn financial tips and tricks on the internet. Especially since I was just getting the construction of my dream home at the time, I wanted to make sure I knew what I was doing. I stumbled on a site called mortgagecalculator.org that helped me better understand mortgages and house loans, but I got bored soon enough and what surprised me was that this site also had games geared toward financial education amongst other things.
Two games that I found particularly enjoyable and informative were Office Hurdles and Code Panda.
Office Hurdles is a hilarious game that I played on the website. In this game, the player is tasked with helping a nameless character navigate through various obstacles in an office setting. The goal is to jump over wet puddles avoiding a tumble to the ground. The game is scored in a way that goes up the longer and more well-timed you jump over the obstacles
I must say, I found this game to be quite entertaining. The graphics and sound effects were top-notch, and the gameplay was smooth and intuitive. It was a great way to relieve some stress and have a good laugh while also learning more about personal finance as I slowly browsed through the rest of the website.
The next game that I played on the website was called Code Panda. This game was less about entertainment and more about education.
