Toyota expands hybrid lineup in PH with Camry, Corolla Altis, Corolla Cross, RAV4, Alphard HEV variants

MANILA, Philippines (Jul. 1) – Toyota is expanding its vehicle offerings in the Philippines, aiming to give Filipinos the power of choice in a competitive automotive market. The company is highlighting its wide array of vehicles, from traditional gasoline engines to a growing lineup of hybrid electric models.

As the country’s leading automotive brand since 1989, Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) credits its success to a reputation for quality, durability, and reliability. According to a press release obtained by our editors, the sight of first-generation Corollas or Revos still on Philippine roads serves as proof of the vehicles’ build quality.

This reputation also extends to high resale value, a key consideration for customers looking to upgrade. The Toyota Hilux, in particular, is noted for this quality.

The company offers a vehicle for nearly every segment, including sedans, SUVs, vans, and sports cars. TMP is putting a strong emphasis on electrification, offering the widest range of Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV) in the local market. HEV variants are available for popular models like the Camry, Corolla Altis, Corolla Cross, RAV4, and Alphard. Recent additions to the hybrid family include the Zenix and Yaris Cross.

Toyota’s push for electrification in the country began with the introduction of the Prius in 2009. The company says its HEVs are an efficient option for Filipino drivers, offering better mileage compared to conventional gasoline cars.

To better understand the needs of the local market, TMP says it practices “Goyokiki,” a Japanese principle of meeting directly with customers. Company executives reportedly met with business owners to gather insights for the design of the Next Generation Tamaraw.

Supporting its product lineup is a nationwide network of 75 dealerships and 8 service centers. The newest dealership, Toyota Ilocos Sur, opened in April 2025. These locations serve as one-stop shops where customers can test drive vehicles and access other services. These include financing through Toyota Financial Services, maintenance scheduling via the myToyota App, a pre-owned car program called T-SURE, and a car leasing solution known as Kinto One.

Toyota also emphasized its commitment to vehicle safety, equipping models with features like Toyota Safety Sense (TSS).

For Filipinos considering their next vehicle purchase, Toyota encourages a detailed look at its diverse lineup to find a car that matches their lifestyle and needs.
