TAGUIG, Philippines (Mar 2025) — Teleperformance (TP) in the Philippines reaffirmed its commitment to HIV awareness and prevention by hosting a capacity development session for medical professionals and advocates. The event, held at the TP Innovation & Solutions Hub in Taguig City, gathered over 60 participants for training on HIV screening and workplace programs.
The initiative, conducted in collaboration with the IT & Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) Labor Standards & Health Committee, aims to strengthen enterprise-level HIV prevention and education. TP, a Platinum member of IBPAP, continues to play a key role in shaping workplace policies that promote health and inclusivity.
“Since 2019, we have been working to educate IBPAP members on the value of having workplace HIV programs,” said Tess Azicate, IBPAP Labor Standards and Health Lead. “These include awareness talks and summits. TP is one of our champions in this effort.”
Participants, including doctors, nurses, TP leaders, and advocates, received hands-on training to administer HIV screenings. The session aligns with TP’s long-standing HIV Awareness and Advocacy Development program, which highlights the importance of early detection and stigma-free conversations.
Jeffrey Johnson, Chief People Officer of TP in the Philippines, led by example by volunteering for an HIV test during the session. “At TP, we believe that fostering a safe and inclusive environment is key to our success,” he said. “I’m grateful for the participation of IBPAP members in this important initiative. It demonstrates our collective commitment to workplace wellness and HIV prevention.”
Since launching in 2015, TP’s HIV Awareness and Advocacy Development program has been recognized by the Department of Health (DOH) and the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) as a pioneering effort in the private sector. The company actively collaborates with advocacy groups, government agencies, and private partners to promote education, safe spaces, and support for People Living with HIV (PLHIV).
Beyond the Philippines, TP continues to engage in global learning exchanges to advance HIV advocacy. In 2023, the company hosted a dialogue with Papua New Guinea’s Key Population Advocacy Consortium (KPAC) at its Vertis North site, fostering discussions on community-led HIV services in partnership with DOH.
For its impactful contributions, TP’s HIV Awareness and Advocacy Development program earned a Gold Anvil Award from the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP) in 2020.
With a strong commitment to inclusion and employee well-being, TP continues to lead workplace initiatives that empower individuals with knowledge and resources to prevent HIV and support affected communities.
