Rotaract Club of Fort Bonifacio Global City invites you to be a part of UNAWA: Spoken Word Poetry Night for Mental Health Awareness on September 23 at Commune Cafe+Bar in Makati.

Co-organized with the Sigaw ng Kabataan Coalition and Rotaract Club of Makati West, UNAWA will showcase stories of Mental Health related illnesses in the Philippines.

Mental illness in the country is a silent killer, with at least 2,558 cases of suicide arising from mental health issues reported in 2012 alone.

This is the right time to talk about this pressing issue especially to the youth through the use of poetry.

Before it gained notoriety, tokhang or “toktok hangyo” originally meant knock and negotiate. This means resolving conflicts by coming together and putting aside differences, which is what this event is trying to highlight.
