The UST Model ASEAN Meeting (UST MAM) is set to launch regional cooperation and development in the new normal through a one-day webinar this Feb. 13 via Zoom Video Conference.
The event, usually held as a simulation of real-life ASEAN Summit proceedings, would take its virtual form and feature industry experts.
The COVID-19 pandemic has certainly put the rest of the world in shock but that will not hinder UST MAM 2021 to achieve its vision and mission to hone and enhance the diplomatic skills of the ASEAN youth.
With the theme: “The New Normal in Motion: Pursuing Regional Development in the Time of COVID-19,” the event would still employ the three pillars of the ASEAN Community with a corresponding set of speakers who are well-versed with its concerning and pressing issues.
The following themes to be discussed per pillar are as follows:
- “Strengthening ASEAN Humanitarian and Aid Initiatives amidst the Global Health Crisis” for the ASEAN Political-Security Community (APSC)
- “Ensuring Security and Inclusivity for Minorities Across ASEAN in Post-COVID-19 Pandemic” which will be discussed by the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC)
- “Strengthening ASEAN Digital Partnership and Cooperation in E-Commerce” is set to be tackled in the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC)
