MANILA, Philippines (Mar 2026) — The vivo V70 had a strong opening weekend. The phone moved over 7,000 units in its first three days on sale from March 14 to 16, 2026, outpacing its predecessor the V60 by 25% in the same window.
The numbers point to a combination of loyal upgraders and first-time vivo buyers who had been waiting for the right moment to switch. Starting at PHP 31,999, the V70 is not an impulse purchase, which makes the early sales figure more telling.
What buyers are actually saying
Lorlyn Romano, a small business owner from Sta. Rosa, Laguna, upgraded from the V60 specifically for the improved camera system. The V70 carries a 50MP ZEISS Super Telephoto lens with AI features including the AI Magic Weather function that lets users change the atmospheric mood of a photo after capture. “Mahilig kasi ako sa photography… importante sa akin yung camera, performance, battery life, at storage,” she said. She also pre-ordered to lock in her preferred Golden Hour colorway after missing out on her color of choice when she bought the V60.
For Charice Vargas, a studio administrator, the V70 ended a four-year wait. Her last phone was the vivo V27, and she said the camera performance sealed the decision. “Ang linaw ng video kahit naka-zoom up to 20x. Tapos ang tagal ng battery, perfect for everyday use,” she shared. The purchase also came with surprise freebies, including a soundbar on top of the wireless buds she was already expecting.
Andrew Jay Tomaquin from Cebu City had originally planned to buy the V60 but held off when he heard the V70 was coming. The 4K 60fps video capability was the deciding factor. “Yung zoom at 4K 60fps sobrang ganda lalo na sa videos,” he said, adding that years of using vivo devices gave him confidence in the brand’s durability.
