In 2009, Academy of Rock Philippines opened as a franchise branch but temporarily closed in 2016.
Now, AOR Ph has relaunched with a new team of investors – Filipino actor, singer, dancer, business owner, and model Enchong Dee, Award-winning Filipino actor, dancer, and model Joshua Garcia, Multi-platinum and award-winning songwriter, composer, record producer, and creative producer of ABS-CBN’s Star Music Jonathan Manalo, Songwriter, record producer, Star Pop Label Head, and Creative Producer Rox Santos, Founder and Vice President for External Affairs of Christian + Collective, volunteer director of Culture and Arts for Sustainable PH, and esteemed Filipino artist and missionary Kristine Lim, General Manager of Wilson and Jackson Automotive Repair Shop, Franchisee, Managing Director Jacinto Lee Gan Jr., and director, video producer, owner of media production company Equinox Manila, digital marketing agency Axis Content Marketing, and milk tea/coffee shop Abba Café Benedict Mariategue.
The official program was opened by an inspiring prayer by shareholder Kristine Lim followed by short speeches from Enchong Dee and Jonathan Manalo who both shared their vision for AOR PH. “We’re really excited to open the school again and be instrumental in the training of the next generation of music creatives, especially in the Philippines… yun yung dream namin sa Academy of Rock and excited kami sa future talents na manggagaling dito.” says shareholder Jonathan Manalo. Shortly after, the shareholders proceeded outside to reveal the signage and officially open the music academy.
Academy of Rock is an award-winning music academy in Singapore established by Priscila Teo in 2007 which aims to modernize music education, nurture one’s individuality, and enhance musicality. Famous for their slogan “Never too early, never too late,” AOR has always promoted diversity and inclusivity, encouraging students of all ages and backgrounds to improve their talents and achieve their dreams.
The launch was graced with the presence of ABS-CBN’s CEO Carlo Katigbak, Entertainment Production Director and Pinoy Big Brother Head Director Lauren Dyogi, Broadcast of ABS-CBN Corporation’s COO Cory Vidanes, and Direk Ruel Bayani. Cornerstone Head Erickson Raymundo was also present along with sir Erik Santos and former AOR Ambassador, Yeng Constantino. A few friends also dropped by to show their support such as Enchong’s co-star in Huwag Kang Mangamba, Kyle Echarri, Joshua’s co-star in Viral, Markus Paterson, and singer Darren Espanto.
Academy of Rock Philippines offers guitar, bass, voice, and drum lessons, piano, ukelele, as well as music production. Enrollees can opt for a physical or an online class– whichever is more comfortable for them. In compliance with safety protocols and to provide a safe space for both its students and teachers, AOR Philippines offers 1 on 1 sessions. With this personalized learning approach, AOR ensures to bring out the best in each student.
