On its 47th Season, Ballet Philippines aims to soar higher, reach greater heights and go further, hence the theme “Wings.” The company seeks to bring ballet to a wider audience and make everyone from all walks of life excited about seeing ballet performances.
To cater to varied tastes, the company prepared a line up of really exciting adaptations of contemporary works and stories that are well known and loved by Filipinos. Expect to see a fusion of bolder choreography, edgier music and fashion in all of this season’s performances.
Last August 2 at the CCP Main Theater Lobby, Ballet Philippines held a press conference to launch their initial offering for this season, “FIREBIRD and other ballets.” The show is a mixed bill of contemporary and neo-classical works, featuring the pieces “Ne Neh Ledej” by David Campos, “Moving Two” by Dwight Rodrigazo, “Shifting Wait” by Carlo Pacis, and an all-new “Firebird” choreographed by George Birkadze.
“FIREBIRD and other ballets” will run for one weekend: August 19, 8:00 PM, August 20 & 21, 2:00 PM & 6:00 PM at the Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo (CCP Main Theater). For inquiries, visit www.ballet.ph, send an email to info@ballet.ph, or call Ballet Philippines at 551-1003.
