Xiaomi Redmi 2 [review]

I finally got the chance to try out the Xiaomi Redmi 2 and aside from being a thing of beauty, it was also what almost everyone can hope for an Android phone to be.

Built at 5.28×2.65×0.37 inches, this phone weights in at only 133g which makes it very light and easy to carry around.

It is already 4G LTE ready so it assures you that as long as an area is LTE ready, you can browse faster and without disruption.

Is the Xiaomi Redmi 2 the right smartphone for you? Here are 4 reasons why you should get the Xiaomi Redmi 2:

1. Dual SIM capability

The Xiaomi Redmi 2 is a dual sim so you don’t need to sacrifice either of your numbers should you have two.

For those who are hardcore audiophiles, the sound is of good quality and for daily commute, should be enough to satisfy your desire for good music.

It has a 3.5mm jack which is a standard with almost every android phones.

Thankfully, it runs at a QuadCore 1.2 Ghz Snapdragon MSM8916 64bit and has a 1GB RAM with an internal memory of 8GB.

This is more than enough to put in all of your games and apps.

If that is not enough, it has a micro SD that can expand up to 32GB.

2. Gorgeous 4.7 inch screen

The screen size of the Xiaomi Redmi 2 is at 4.7 inch which is more than good enough for watching your movies and TV shows on the go.

The battery life lasts more than 6 hours if used constantly.

The screen resolution of 720×1280 with a pixel density of 312ppi ensures your eyes won’t strain badly even if you have been watching for more than 4 hours which I almost always end up doing when I am watching on my phone.

With the Xiaomi Redmi 2, the brightness and color quality were pretty good so it made watching more enjoyable.

Sometimes though I become a clutz and the phone in my hand meets the ground unexpectedly.

Thankfully, the corning Gorilla glass protects it from breaking.

I wouldn’t recommend doing it over and over again though because a phone is still a phone.

What I would recommend is taking a lot of photos and selfies.

 3. Awesome camera

At almost 2MP, this phone does pretty well with selfies and at 8MP, it can definitely capture moments for you especially since the aperture of F2.2 allows for instant capture.

If you want to relive the moment over and over again, then take a video and with a resolution of 1080p and 30frames per second, you’d definitely have something to watch over and over again in the many years to come.

4. Accessories!

Of course android phones are not just meant to be accessories. They need to stand the test of time and the wear and tear of users.

The Xiaomi Redmi 2 passed the Antutu stability test and for gamers, you would be happy to know that the average FPS is S5.5 and it has a high performance.

Another good thing is that you only need to charge it for 2 hours if the unit is off then off you can go gaming again.

Overall the Xiaomi Redmi 2 surpasses 60% of the other Android phones in the market and if all you need is something for everyday daily use, then this phone is more than good enough for you.

Priced at Php 5999, the Xiaomi Redmi 2 very easy on the pockets.
